Irene Joyce Wolfgeher's Obituary
Irene Joyce Wolfgeher, 87, of Tacoma Washington, died Monday July 20th, 2015.
She was born to the late Dora Ethel Blaylock Evans and James Sterling Evans, November 15th, 1927 in Tacoma, Washington. She married Bernard (Barney) Wolfgeher (Retired US Navy, Chief Petty Officer) on January 29, 1951, and was married for 60 Years. As a Navy wife she lived in multiple states including Indiana, Montana and Alaska before settling in Tacoma, Washington in 1964. Irene was devoted to her family and husband until his passing in 2010.
She grew up in Tacoma in a family of nine children and is survived by her 2 brothers Tommy Evans (81), of Sheldon, Washington; Ray Evans (93) of Sun City, Arizona and her sister in law Florence Evans (90) of Gig Harbor, Washington.
She was precious, so sincere and made with pure love.
Irene loved to laugh and always had a happy attitude. She just could not do enough to make everyone feel warm and welcomed. She was generous, enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and loved her flower garden.
Irene is survived by her 2 sons: Gary Wolfgeher and his wife Mary Wolfgeher, of Tacoma; and Michael Wolfgeher and his partner Carlos Leon, of Los Angeles. She is also survived by her Grandson Joshuah Wolfgeher and his 2 Great Granddaughters; and Granddaughter, Amber Wolfgeher. Terry and his wife Donna Robinson of Sumner; son Derek Robinson, daughter Stacy and her husband Jake Jackson with their son Jace.
Mountain View Funeral Home interment placement is private for the immediate family and is followed by a “Celebration of Life” open house gathering at her home on August 8th, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
