The Ione Carmichael that we got to know was Mrs. Carmichael. She soon let us know, when she found out that we knew her son, daughter, their spouses and her grand children that her name was Ione. We imagine that she said the same friendly request to anyone, whether they knew those other relatives or not.
The Ione that we knew from the Carmichael gatherings and parties (same thing) and at Fircrest GC was just such a beautiful person to be around. She had a special grace and style about her that was completely natural, heartfelt and sincere. The number 1 thing she talked to us about was never ever about her, but rather her family. Her eyes would twinkle and her smile would engulf you as she talked about each one (also asking in a very sneaky way if we had any dirt on her son, (Well that one was easy and the answer was always...YES!!) She knew, as we all did, that all the rest of her crew were Saints. We certainly think that she was one and now is one for sure!!
