Inge Schuller's Obituary
Ingeborg Charlotte Schuller, age 87, peacefully and gracefully departed this life surrounded by family, on Wednesday, February10th, 2016. A longtime resident of Lakewood, Washington, Inge was an integral part of not only her family, but of the local German community and her neighborhood. An only child, born in 1928 in Heidelberg, Germany to Elizabeth Weiss and Ulrich Krugman, she worked as a switchboard operator for the US Government in Germany after the end of World War II. Those fortunate enough to have heard her many humorous stories of her time working as a switchboard operator, as well as the darker stories from the more desperate times during the war, understand why one of her favorite phrases was "Laughter is the Best Medicine" - you needed it to get through the hard times. She met and married a US Army Private named John Edward Schuller (later known to everyone around her as "Mr. Schuller") and moved to the United States to start a family and realize the American Dream in the best way possible. Truly a one of a kind, she brightened everyone's lives around her and held a place in her family and friend's hearts that only someone as unique as Inge could fill. Mutter or Mutti to some, Oma to many (She very much disliked Urgrossmutter)- She is survived by her son, John Schuller and three daughters, Dena Skipworth, Monica Glover and Ericka Garosi, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law and three son-in-laws as well as countless friends.
At Inge's request there will be no memorial or funeral services, her ashes will be spread among the wildflowers on Mount Rainer.
