Inge Hazen's Obituary
Inge Hazen, 84, beloved wife, mother, and Oma went to be with our Lord on April 7, 2021. Inge was born in Mainz, Germany on January 3, 1937 to Artur and Barbara Hauck. Inge had one brother Helmut who preceded her in death.
In her early years in Germany, Inge spent much of her time with her aunt, uncle, and cousins in the countryside. Inge was a graduate of the Neutorschule. In 1966, Inge came to Tacoma from her homeland to visit friends. It was during this time that she met and married her beloved husband, Mike.
Inge’s greatest loves were her family and friends. She was a doting Oma to her grandchildren Jack and Ava. Visits with them always brought her and Mike so much happiness. Together, Mike and Inge traveled to Germany many times to visit family, including their daughter Betty. Inge shared Mike’s love of the outdoors and spending time in their garden. Inge also enjoyed reading, dancing, swimming, listening to music and cooking authentic German food.
Inge deeply loved children. She worked in child-care for many years and brought joy and love to so many. She stayed in contact with the families and children even as they entered their college and young adult years. Inge was so proud to be a part of their lives.
Inge predeceased her husband Mike of Tacoma by 13 days. She is survived by; daughter Betty Ehmann (Stefan) of Berlin, Germany; daughter Rosslyn Stookey (Steve) of Kirkland; and grandchildren Jack and Ava Stookey.
Inge was known to all as an exceptionally kind and loving woman. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
