Linda Bracken
Inez was generous and kind. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I was Inez’s daughter in law and although there are many jokes and stories of the tension with “the mother in law”, this was not my experience. From the first time I met Inez, she loved me like a daughter. I was blessed to know her and I will miss her dearly.
Inez adored her six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and maintained individual relationships with each of them until the day she died. She was active in my kids’ lives even from 1300 miles away and called them frequently. She made sure to travel to California to attend important events in my childrens’ lives and was present for not only for the major milestones but to be a part of every day life as well.
Inez not only loved her family, she was a good friend to many. As a military wife, Inez had the opportunity to travel extensively and kept in touch with friends made throughout her journeys for her entire lifetime. She also was an animal lover, especially of cats and had many furry companions that she doted on throughout her life.
Inez liked to show her love through food. She enjoyed cooking and it was a love she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She once travelled to California with a frozen lasagna in her luggage because she knew how much her son enjoyed her lasagna. She was also known to make both homemade pasta and bread, always making more than enough to share with a neighbor or the firemen down the street. Forever keeping the animals in mind, there was even bread for the neighbor’s chickens.
Despite her small stature, she made a huge impact on the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
