Arce, Imelda's Obituary
Imelda was born on November 5, 1951 in La Union, Philippines and passed peacefully on May 13, 2025 in Tacoma General Hospital. She was a beloved mother to one daughter, Reina, grandmother to two grandchildren, and the second oldest of eight siblings.
Imelda started working as a telephone operator for the gas company Caltex for over 10 years during her time residing in the Philippines. In April 2010, Imelda then pursued her American dream and moved to Washington to be with her daughter, Reina and witness the growth of her family.
From 2017 to 2018, Imelda was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Imelda had then been in remission from 2018 until 2024 where she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
Despite the curveballs that were thrown Imelda's way, she persisted and kept living life the best way she could. Imelda still disco'd the night away at family parties, learned to have a green thumb in growing her plants, and was an essential being in raising her grandchildren, Charles and Jacob.
Imelda was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, caring sister, and overall a beautiful person in many people's lives. She will forever be missed.
