Ilse Frieda Banks' Obituary
Ilse Frieda Banks, 96, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018 at Sunshine's Haven Adult Family Home in Lakewood, WA. Ilse was born in Landsberg Warthe, Germany to the parents of Wilhelm and Frieda Voelker.
In 1949 Ilse met the love of her life James Banks in Berlin, Germany, and the two were married on March 4, 1954. In 1969, James and Ilse moved to their home in Spanaway, where they lived until his passing in 2010.
Ilse is survived by her three daughters, Sylvia (Tom), Diane and Sandy (Sherman). She was also blessed with 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy), Brian (Jenny), Jason (Karla), Joel and Justin; and Nicole (James). She also left behind 8 great grandchildren and one on the way; as well as her sister Margot.
Ilse cherished her family as they meant the world to her; she demonstrated that every day of her life being a kind, gentle, fun loving wife, mother and grandmother; and her family could not have been more blessed. She will be deeply missed and leave a large hole in the tapestry of our lives.
