Ila J. Pettus' Obituary
Ila Jean Moreland PettusAge 56, passed away at Allenmore Hospital on November 15, 2007 at 6:30 AM. Ila was born February 14, 1951 in Urbana, Illinois, and was the only daughter of Myrtle A. Portis. She moved with her mother to Tacoma, WA, at the age of 12. Ila attended Tacoma Public Schools and graduated from Stadium High School. Ila was employed by the City of Tacoma for many years. Her hobbies and interests were gardening, computers, beading, reading and most importantly, helping others. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Ralph R. Pettus; her son, Ralph F. Pettus; her mother, Myrtle A. Portis; two aunts, Barbara J. (Bobbie) Williamson and Florence L. (William) Powell; two uncles, George Moreland, Jr. and Franklin V. Moreland; and a host of cousins: Lisa, Kenneth, Kevin, JoAnn, Sue, Michael and Julie; and many family members and friends. Viewing will be at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Tacoma, WA, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 12 noon, at Eastside Baptist Church, 3575 Portland Avenue, Tacoma.
