Ida Griswold's Obituary
Ida Griswold, 77, of Tacoma passed away peacefully August 16, 2006. Born June 17, 1929 in Germany, Ida immigrated to the United States in 1954, and was proud to get her American citizenship in 1966. Ida was a loyal member of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary #5 for 45 years and had previously held the positions of State Department President and Ladies Auxiliary President. Ida received many awards for doing volunteer work at American Lake VeteranÂ's Hospital. Ida was a gracious lady always willing to lend a helping hand. She believed in second chances and unconditional love. Ida will be sadly missed by her children: Betti Nitschke-Hove (Tim), MaryLou Mooring (Ryk), Henry Sauer, Dorothy Hodge, and Kenneth R. Griswold II. Also missing her will be ten loving grandchildren: Ida Ernsbarger (Rick), Heidi Nitschke, Carmela and Angie Siconolfi, Derrick and Andrew Sauer, Cyndi and Jennifer Hodge, Kenneth and Cameron Griswold; great-grandson Patrick Breshon II; brother Joseph Schneider and sister Monkia Christof of Germany; in addition to many loyal friends.Viewing is from 1 - 9 PM on Sunday, August 20th. Services will be held at 2PM Monday August 21, 2006 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel. Reception following service at 3 PM. Post 1 AMVETS Hall, 5717 South Tyler Street, Tacoma.Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
