Howard A. Rasmussen's Obituary
Howard has sailed away to be with our lord January 9th, 2016 He was born February 4, 1929 in Fairmont, Minnesota, where he was raised. In 1943 he became a resident of Tacoma Washington. In 1951 he served two years in the Army where he was on the front lines of the Korean War. Howard was honorably discharged in 1953 after receiving a United Nations Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. Howard returned home to Tacoma and worked for a local company in appliance sales and service for 21 years, in 1976 he met Neva Prather on a blind date. They were married July 10, 1980. In their 40 years together they enjoyed a wonderful life sailing and traveling, brought him great joy as did his remote sail boats and air planes. He also enjoyed carving birds and received awards for their beauty and craftsmanship. He also loved working on his Vintage cars.
Howard was preceded in death by his brother Harold and his Parents. He has four daughters, Debra, Paula, Sandra, and Dana. Also 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was a very witty and funny man; he will be greatly missed by many!
