Hildegard (Hilde) Meta Gertrud Knop-Burrow, 91, of Lakewood WA died November 1, 2014. She was born on November 8, 1922 to Otto and Anna Knop of Naugard, Germany, and married on March 19, 1949 to Lester Lloyd Burrow in Bremen, Germany. She and Les arrived in the NY harbor June 13, 1949 and travelled by car across the US, visiting her new American family consisting of Les’s uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, mother & father. Hilde gave birth to a son, Frank in 1950, and in 1958 they purchased a house in Lakewood. Aside from a five year tour of duty in Italy, Germany and New Mexico, Lakewood remained their home until 2010. Upon their return from oversees duty, Hilde went to work in the medical field as a doctor’s assistant in Lakewood until both she and Les retired. Hilde loved her home, garden, friends and family. She was preceded in death by Les in 1994 and is survived by her son Frank (Pam) of Buckley; granddaughter Kim (Jason) Wambolt and great grandson Devon of Maryland; and brother and sister-in-law Günter and Waltraut Knop of Isenbüttel, Germany. Her family wishes to express their appreciation to Kilcha Sekyra and her staff for their endearing care and respect given to Hilde during her stay in Puyallup. Hilde will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held Friday November 21st at Mountain View Memorial Park, Garden Chapel at 11:00am; a reception will follow.
