Hilde K. Spencer's Obituary
Hilde K. Spencer, 90, of Tacoma, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born in Alsace-Lorraine, France on November 11, 1926. Following her birth, Hilde lived in Germany until she married the love of her life, Lester D. Spencer. They were married for over 40 years before he preceded her in death on April 18, 1994.
In addition to working in the customer service industry for many years, Hilde was a devoted wife and mother of 6 children. Possessing a servant’s heart, Hilde faithfully cared for family and friends, especially through her delicious German cooking and baking from scratch. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, and watching football.
Hilde is survived by 5 children: Evelyn McGruder, Charles Spencer, Loretta Mizell, Marvin Spencer, and Annette Cook along with their spouses and significant others; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and a host of many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Spencer and son, Lester Otis Spencer. We will cherish the time spent together and always love her.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel at 1pm. Following the graveside services, a reception will be held immediately in the Oak Room at the Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home (253) 584-0252.
