Hilda Matilda Winrich's Obituary
March 13th, 2015, 2 days before her 97th birthday, Hilda entered through the gates of Heaven.
Hilda Winrich was born on March 15th, 1918, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Wilhelm and Vendla Larson. She had three brothers: Harold (Florence), Alex (Betty), and Verner (Doris). The Larsons moved to a farm off Golden Given Road in Parkland, Washington. Hilda initially attended Lincoln High School, but transferred to Roy High School and graduated in 1936.
Hilda met her first husband, Roy Kreger, in high school. Roy was a yell king for Eatonville and she was the yell queen for Roy. While dancing at the Collins Grange, Roy "tapped" her for a dance and the rest was history. Hilda and Roy married in 1936 and had two children, Jerry and Gloria (both deceased).
In 1958, Hilda married Harry Winrich. They built a home on Spanaway Lake. Growing in their love for one another, Harry and Hilda blended their hearts, their families, and their friends. Hilda survived Harry by 16 years and resided at their home until her death.
Throughout her life, Hilda lived well. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She owned several businesses, participated in community organizations, and attended First Covenant Church.
Hilda is survived by her brother Verner Larson, sister-in-law Betty Larson, stepson Dale Winrich, daughter-in-law Cheryl Kreger Stamper, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Thank you Don and Pam Petersen for being there for Hilda. Your soups and desserts were her favorite. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's hospital that helped Hilda during her final days.
Hilda loved life, loved the Lord, and loved a good laugh. To all who knew her, Hilda was love.
