Hideko K. Barnes' Obituary
Hideko K. Barnes
Hideko was born in Yokohama, Japan on August 25, 1917, and peacefully passed away at her daughter Sachiko Abbott's Lakewood home on August 23, 2009 at the age of 92. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Master Sergeant John A. Barnes, Hideko is survived by her two daughters, Masako Nakamura and Sachiko Abbot, who were lovingly present, as was Hideko's granddaughter, Masako Tsujiguchi, with Hideko for the last weeks of her blessed life. She is also proudly survived by her much-loved five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. At Hideko's request, there will be no funeral service, and donations on her behalf may be made to Franciscan Hospice. Hideko enjoyed her flower garden, fruit trees, and her precious Yorkshire dogs. Her home was a friendship center for her numerous, treasured friends, who will greatly miss Hideko, but she will never be forgotten.
