Herta was born prematurely and severely underweight during one of the worst winters in Bavarian history, and it was not expected that she live more than three days, but she went on to live a full life of 88 years. She experienced World War II first-hand as a young child living in Germany. As an adult she would meet Warren in Germany who she would go on to marry in 1952. They moved to California and eventually settled in Washington with their family. They were married 49 years before he passed. After the passing of Warren she lived with her daughter Cindy and family for 17 years in University Place and then Grapeview.
Herta was a homemaker and loved being with her family who meant everything to her. There were always a wonderful Sunday dinners and she would often cook the most amazing German meals, making sure that if you were visiting you would get your favorite. She was such a wonderful woman, gentle, kind, loving and always willing to help others. She thought about others before herself. Her family and friends will always remember her as being such a generous woman, we were blessed with an angel on earth.
There will be a private graveside service on June 2nd, 2017. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association or the Tacoma Humane Society.
