Herman Rutt's Obituary
Herman was born February 7, 1911 in Tacoma and passed away January 10, 2004 in Puyallup. Herman was a retired blacksmith for the Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern Railroad retiring in July 1974 after 44 years of service. Herman was married to Olga Achziger in 1934 and she predeceased Herman in 1971. Herman lived in Auburn for 30 years during his marriage to Edna Lyons. Herman was an avid pheasant and duck hunter as well as enjoying salmon fishing. During his retirement years, he traveled, golfed and was an avid MarinerÂ's baseball fan. Herman was a member of the Auburn Elks Lodge.He is survived by his three children: James Rutt (Karin) of Raymond, WA; Daniel Rutt, Sr. of Milton, WA; Susan Willms (Gary) of Pleasanton, CA; grandchildren Tracy Rutt (Elisa) of Fox Island, WA; Michelle Martin (James), Mercer Island, WA; James Rutt of Auburn, WA; Amy Rutt of Washington, D.C.; Christopher Rutt of Raymond, WA; Ahlea Denett (Jeffrey) of Olympia, WA; Tammy Rutt of Tacoma, WA; Daniel Rutt, Jr. (Kelly) of Tacoma, WA; Melissa Giaudrone of Auburn, WA; Matthew Amundson of Pleasanton, CA; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are his sisters Elsie Hergenreder and Virginia Goodenow of Tacoma and his brother, Henry Rutt (Donna) of Fircrest.Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 17 at the Valley Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma. Remembrances may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice of Puyallup or to a favorite charity.
