Herman D. Colbert Jr. (Command Sargent Major--retired), born May 20, 1926, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, has peacefully passed. Herman was a career Army engineer who served 32 years with distinction in the United States Army from 1944 through his retirement in 1976.
Herman is survived by his wife, to whom he was joyfully married for 69 years, three children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.
