Helga F. Higgins' Obituary
Helga F. Higgins, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away
peacefully on December 4, 2024, at the age of eighty-nine. Born in Manheim, Germany,
Helga met her husband, Guilford Higgins, while he was stationed there. Together, they
navigated a life of continuous transfers due to Guilford's military career before finally
settling in Tacoma, Washington, where Helga made her home for 38 years.
Helga dedicated many years to the Tacoma School District, where she found joy in the
energy and youth of the children she worked with until her retirement. She had a deep love
for her pets, including Marisa, Elvis, Alex, and Buddy, and a fondness for the color pink
(mauve). In her leisure time, Helga enjoyed listening to classic music from the 1950s and
staying informed about Germany's political, social, and cultural events. She also had a
passion for roller skating, often accompanying her daughter in her younger years.
Helga now joins her husband Guildford, son Randall, and others of her heavenly family.
Helga is survived by her son Kurt and daughter Diana; three grandchildren, Cylinda, David,
and Tym; and six great-grandchildren, Ari, Deja, Emma, Ali, Sibastian, Amelia, sister
Annalisa, and niece, Jeannette.
Helga's warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew
her.
