Helene Shelley's Obituary
Helene Shelley Johnson, age 75, of University Place, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday morning, December 21st after an extensive struggle with Lewy Body disease. Helene was born May 13, 1929 in Dudelsheim, Germany. She met and married Howard Shelley and moved to Indiana. She gave birth to her only son, Michael in 1958. They relocated to Washington, where she has lived since.Helene spent many years of dedicated cleaning service to many fine people in Tacoma. She was a member of: TacomaÂ's German club, Lakewood WomanÂ's Emblem Club, and Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church. Helene is survived by her loving family, which includes: son Mike and wife Colleen, granddaughter Breanne, grandson Mitchell, brothers and sisters in Germany and Chicago, and her beloved dog, Moxi. Helene loved to cook, garden, spend time with her family and travel the world. She was loved by all that knew her and many that can share a laugh and a smile by her antics. A big hug and thank you to the staff at Hearthside Manor for treating our mother like she was your own. Thank you to the staff at St. JosephÂ's Hospital for your compassion.Viewing will be held from 12 to 9 pm, December 26th at Mountain View Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of HeleneÂ's life at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 27th at Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church.
