Helena Taylor's Obituary
Helena Rose Taylor
June 6, 1925 - December 29, 2011
Helena, our beloved mother, sister, aunt & friend, was born in London, England to Charles and Katherine (Miller) Stanley and passed away in University Place at the age of 86.
Mom was a war bride. She met our father, Phillip J. Taylor, in 1944 in London, where he was stationed with the Army Air Corp during WWII. They were married in Lytham St. Anne's, England in 1945. Dad remained in the Air Force for 26 years, together they raised 3 children in different locations throughout the US and other countries such as England and Guam.
Helena lived a full and rewarding life & she wanted to be remembered mostly for her kindness. She truly was kind & caring but she was so much more than that. She was a singer with a beautiful voice & a fantastic dancer. Helena was frequently referred to, by many who knew her, as "a classy lady". Helena was the embodiment of grace and elegance but more than anything else, she was the best wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend anyone could ask for. She truly loved us all.
Helena was preceded in death by her parents & by her husband of 42 years (Phillip J. Taylor). She is survived by her sons Fred & (Laurie) Taylor, Bob & (Peggy) Taylor, daughter Lynn & (Gary) Lipponen. Sisters: Iris, Bootie, Madeline & Janice, all of England, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
We would like to thank the Doctors and staff at the Franciscan Hospice House for their kindness and wonderful care of our Mother during her last days. There will be a private graveside service for Helena at the Mountain View Memorial Park on Friday, January 6, at 11:30 AM.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
