Helen Mae Vinkenes' Obituary
Helen Mae Murray Vinkenes was born October 19, 1923 in Eldon, Missouri to Nelson and Rudy Murray. The family moved to Kansas City, Kansas, then the Adrian, Missouri area. On graduation from high school, she moved to California where she met her husband, Leonard Vinkenes. They were married September 17, 1946 in Gig Harbor, Washington. They had one child, Linda. Helen worked many years for the Bremerton school district.She was known for her Martha Stewart quality housekeeping. She and Leonard Vinkenes renovated several homes. She was very active in her church. She enjoyed making ceramics, and loved world travel on cruise ships.She is survived by her husband, Leonard; her daughter Linda of Olalla, Washington; sister Dorothy Wolfe of Raymore, Missouri; brothers Charles Murray of Butler, Missouri and Nelson Murray of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; nephews Mark and Philip Murray of Texas; nieces Kit Duevel of Raymore, Missouri; Judy Walls of Sachse, Texas and Jan Richards of Highland Ranch, Colorado, and many friends.
