She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1998. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. Attended PLU, Knapps Business College, Worked for Pacific NW Bell for 20 years, Married Charles Challender in 1977 and worked in their asphalt business. They made two trips to Alaska in their travel trailer, fished the Kenai river for salmon. They spent 10 years going to Mesa, Arizona as snow birds. She is survived by her son, Mike Fitzpatrick (wife Kelly), daughter Kathleen Haslett (husband Brad), sister Donna Power and 6 step children and many grand and great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Mountain View Funeral Home, Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2014. At her request, no graveside services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or domestic violence charity of your choice.
