Hazel McGinn's Obituary
Hazel May McGinn of Tacoma,
Washington passed away February 26, 2016 at the age of 98
years. She died peacefully at St. Therese Adult Family
Home in Federal Way, Washington.Hazel was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on April 22,
1917, the fourth of six children born to Alfred and Bessie
Smith. Her family moved to Washington when she was an
infant and lived in Tacoma and Ocean City. Hazel had two
children from her first marriage, daughter Beverly, and son
Leonard, who preceded her in death. Hazel married Owen
Robert "Bob" McGinn in 1954, who preceded her in death in
Hazel lived a full and active life filled with friends,
relatives, and travel adventures. She worked for People's
Department Store, Puget Sound Naval Shipyards, Boeing, and
retired from Mount Rainier Ordinance Depot. Hazel relished
in telling stories of living at Ocean City as a teen and her
love of the beach. Hazel and Bob enjoyed their retirement
years traveling and exploring the American Southwest.
Hazel's parents, and siblings Edward, Eva, Robert, Donald,
and Shirley all proceeded her in death. She is survived by
her loving daughter Beverly Hamilton and husband Laurren of
Goodyear, Arizona; two grandsons, Todd and Jason Hamilton;
great-grandchildren Danelle and Cameron; and
great-great-grand son Miles.
Hazel will be missed, but we are comforted knowing she is
now with her family in heaven. A memorial will be held for
family and friends at a later date.
