Hawk B Matthews' Obituary
Hawk Passed away May 18, 2013 at Age 75, after a courageous health battle. Hawk was born in Evergreen, Alabama to the late Alberta & LV Matthews and raised by Stepfather Eddie Richards. Brothers Frank & LV (Larry) Matthews Daughter Naomi (Na Na) Lynn, Melvin B. Jr. and Calvin B. Matthews preceded him in death. He is survived sons Tony, Lenny, Gary and Mickey Matthews, grandchildren: Brothers: Eddie (Junie), Ron, & James Richards & Sisters: Sandra Glover, Annette Giles, Bernice Richards & Patricia Stansbury & a host of nieces/nephews, cousins, relatives & friends throughout Washington/Oregon/Nevada/New York/Colorado/Florida & California. Hawk served in the US Air Force, Hawk grew up in Tacoma and attended McCarver Elementary/Junior High School and graduated from Stadium High School where he was actively involved in sports. Played Semi-Pro Football, attended the University Of Washington, owned and operated HAWK FEDERAL PAINTING INC and worked in Facility Maintenance at Emerald Queen Casino. Hawk loved his family and the extended family he created among his employees and friends. Hawk loved his local sports teams, fishing and horse racing.
