I once made the mistake of playing the tuba around Haven, and it became something that he wanted me to play all too frequently. I became Tuba Jim, and it took years to become more than that to him. I always appreciated his ability to see the beauty in his surroundings. He was so sensory. Whether it be looking into the wilderness, listening to music, or eating food he was appreciative of the moment. My last conversation with him was about ranking top 5 hottest actresses and actors. He was much more comfortable listing the actresses. I’m glad that I was able to embarrass him, and only wish I could do it again.

I'm his mom's cousin and throughout his life i enjoyed joking around with him, especially when he was younger and would try to bug me, but I'd give him a dose of his own medicine by tickling him like crazy or something. There was one time I was at his grandparents' place watching tv by myself. Haven was about 8 years old. He walked in, climbed up on my lap, and got up in my face so I couldn't watch the show, so i slowly pushed back against his forehead with mine and pushed him off my lap and back onto his feet. We both laughed about being silly. I'll miss him.

My favorite memory will always be the day Haven was sitting in his high chair as an infant. A song came on the tv and haven began singing along with it. He was about 6 months old, and was accurately “bah bah bah” ing the melody! I was so shocked, and Cara just casually said “He does that.” I knew then that he was and would always be a true musician/creative.

Though I didn’t spend a large amount of time with you and Haven, I could always see the love you had for each other. Your relationship with your son was beautiful. It was so obvious you two were the best of friends. My thoughts are with you.
