Haruyo Campbell's Obituary
On February 01, 2018 our father took our mother's hand and led her over the rainbow.
Haruyo Takada Campbell was born the fourth daughter to Yojiro and Sei Takada in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, Honshu Japan on March 31, 1927. It was there that she met her future husband Charlie, who was stationed there in the Army. He courted her for 4 years before they became husband and wife in 1951. They relocated to America in 1952. It took Haruyo twelve days to get to America by boat. On this voyage is where she met Fumiko Factory after which they remained dear friends. Charlie and Haruyo settled in Kansas where their first child Gilbert was born in 1955. They then relocated to Fort Lewis Washington where their second child Floyd was born in 1956 followed by Susan born in 1957. Haruyo studied and became an American Citizen, putting her roots down in Tacoma, WA. where she raised her family. It was there that she met Fumiko’s sister in law Inez Factory who also remained one of her dearest friends. Haruyo was preceded in death by her husband Charlie and her cat Kudoe who she loved dearly. She is survived by her children Gilbert Campbell (Juanita) Floyd Campbell, Susan Campbell-Schueler (Jeff) 7 grandchildren and 5 great grand children. Thank-you so very kindly to the staff at Keiro nursing home for the wonderful care that was provided to our mother and especially the kindness, compassion, love and support not for just her, but us her family as well. Ceremony will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation would be appreciated in her name to Keiro Northwest Seattle, WA.
