Harry Thompson's Obituary
Harry Thompson, born October 14, 1927 in Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 14, 2010. Harry is survived by his children, Danny (Connie), Laura, Charlene, identical twin Harold (Thora) and grandchildren Gino, Christine, Samuel, Benjamin,, great-grandchildren, Krystal, Jordan, Savannah, Austin, Andrew, Dylan, and Jackson, and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Ingwald Thompson, sister Louise Miller, granddaughter Jennie Marie, wives Bernadine and Theresa, and friend Barbara Doman.
From Harry's marriage to Theresa, he is survived by five step-children: Richard Swanson, Cheri, Mark (Penny), Don (Lisa), and John (Sherry); and several grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, June 28th at Mountain View Memorial Park Valley Chapel at 11am. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Hospice House who helped ease Harry's suffering as well as the comfort they offered to his family. Donations to Hospice House would be appreciated.
Harry joined the Navy in 1944 during WWII and served four years with an honorable discharge on October 7, 1948. Harry worked for Northern Pacific Railroad from 01/26/1950 for 20 years until the big merger of March 1970. At that time he was employed for Burlington Northern Railroad for the balance of his 12 year career until retirement in 1982 at the age of 55.
