Harry Allan Rehms' Obituary
Harry Allan Rehms had a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy that touched the hearts of many. His love for his wife Sharon endured for 62 amazing years, and he always responded to her with a resounding “Yes, Dear.” Through his children—Greg and wife Cari, Ken and wife Annette, and Pam—his legacy continues, carrying forward his spirit, faith and memories.
Harry’s family extended to his grandchildren: Danny and wife Rashelle, Kelley and husband Kevin, Kara, Jason and wife Hannah, and Parker. And even further, to his great-grandchildren: Preslie, Madeleine Stephen, Joseph, and Camille. Their lives were woven with the threads of his love and wisdom.
Harry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clarice and Harry Rehms. His siblings included: Fern, wife Ev; Dave, wife Sue; Liz; Dorothy, husband Ed; Earl, wife Elaine; Dan; John, wife Jane, Ethel, husband Rich and Elsie, husband Dale.
Beyond family, Harry had a diverse set of interests. He reveled in fishing, camping, and gardening—activities that connected him to the outdoors. His hands were skilled at building things, and his garage was a sanctuary for tinkering and creating. The pages of his Bible were well-used, and he found news and a wisdom in its words. Puzzles and Sudoku challenged his mind, providing both entertainment and mental exercise.
Harry’s professional journey was equally remarkable. He served in the Air Force, dedicating three years to his country. Later, he contributed significantly to technological advancements, working for Boeing and RCA. His fingerprints are etched into the design of the electronics of our nation’s inaugural weather satellite, the Nimbus. His journey continued, working for Gulf Oil at the P&M Coal Plant. In retirement, Harry cherished companionship. His working alongside dear friends Bill and Phil were moments of camaraderie and shared memories.
Harry Allan Rehms—a man of love, intellect, wisdom, great faith in his Lord and Savior, kindness and purpose—leaves behind a legacy that will echo through and live on, blessing countless others, for generations.
