Harry B. Stone's Obituary
Harry was born on August 25, 1930 and passed away August 15, 2004 in Tacoma.He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Harry attended CWU for two years before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1953. He met his wife, Grace, in 1955, while he was attached to the U.S. Embassy in London, England, they were married a year later.Harry received orders for Korea in 1960 and served in Viet Nam in 1968 and 1971. Upon his retirement in 1973 Harry attended UPS earning a degree in accounting. He started his second career as an IRS agent and retired in 1989.Harry loved all sports and was an avid golfer. He did crossword puzzles, the harder the better, and enjoyed reading, gardening and debating with his many friends. Harry was a member of FOE 2933; The Disabled American Veterans and a Lifetime Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.Harry is survived by his wife, Grace Stone; children, Diane Buckley and Dennis Stone (Kitty); granddaughter, Janna Stone; brother, Charles (Chuck) Davis (Sylvia); sister, Nita Skipper.Harry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Garden Chapel on August 25, 2004 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Franciscan Hospice Foundation (253)671-7000, or a charity of your choice.
