Harold T. Paulsen's Obituary
Harold T. Paulsen, 87, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2005. He was born and raised in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High in 1936.He is survived by his best friend and wife of 57 years, Marie; daughters Carol Mathewson (Mike) and Sue Densley (Steve); grandchildren Sandz (Kelley), Kara, Tyler and Jana; and great-grandchildren Cole, Lauren and Alex. He was preceded in death by his daughter Janet and granddaughter Katherine.Harold spent his life serving God and giving to others. He was an active member of Luther Memorial Church for 43 years and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church for the past 14 years. He was on the board of United Good Neighbor, Salvation Army, Girl Scouts, Tobey Jones and the Lutheran Home. He was also very active with the Tacoma Chamber of Commerce.He was a U.S. Navy aviator and worked for National Bank of Washington for 25 years. He left, as senior vice president, to join a group of Tacoma businessmen to establish Commerce Savings and Loan Association, of which he later became president.Viewing will take place from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Mountain View Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at noon on Friday, Nov. 4, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 N. Stevens St., Tacoma. A reception will follow the service.Remembrances may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
