Harold T. Sandberg's Obituary
Harold T. Sandberg, 95, has gone to be with the Lord on August 11, 2016.
Ask friends and family about Harold and they'll talk about his love of horses,
camping, mischievous sense of humor and his gentle demeanor.  He was an
honest and hard-working man and set an example for his children and grandchildren
on how to live life with integrity, discipline, and stick-to-itiveness, to keep going
no matter what life brings.
Harold was born on July 8, 1921, to Peter and Emma Sandberg, both immigrants of Sweden.
The early years of his life were spent with his two older sisters Ellen and Dorothy on the family farm.
He was a proud Veteran in the Army during World War II, and served our country overseas in
Europe.  After returning from WWII, he met and married the love of his life Katherine Olson.
They made there home in Dash Point in 1947, they were married for 51 years.
They were both active members of Marine View Presbyterian Church, and were dedicated
to the children ministry there.  Harold was an auto mechanic by trade and retired from
Gilcrest Buick in Tacoma, Wa.   Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine, daughter
Linda Louise Sandberg, his sisters Ellen Hunicutt and Dorothy Erikson.  He is survived by
his sons and daughter-n-laws, Jerry & Terri Sandberg and Marvin & Susan Sandberg both
of Tacoma; daughter and son-n-law, Dr. Martha Sandberg-Hayes and Dr. James F. Hayes
of Lodi, Ca.  Grandchildren;  Kimberly (Marcus) Handy, Emily Sandberg, Christopher (Katie)
and Andrew (Jamie) Sandberg, Christopher and Hunter Hayes.  He also has 6 beautiful
great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, September 9th, and from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, September 10th, at Mountain View Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 2:00pm Saturday, September 10th, for family, relatives and close friends, at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marine View Presbyterian Church for the children
ministries.
