Harold L. McBride's Obituary
Harold McBride, also known as “Mac,” was born in Springfield, MO on September 14, 1925. He ascended into heaven on July 31, in Poulsbo, WA. He was predeceased by his loving wife Daisy and son Tom.
Mac highly valued honesty and integrity and practiced it throughout his life. Mac joined the Navy after high school and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He received many medals before retiring after twenty years of service, having received the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Mac was very proud to defend our country, but seldom spoke of the atrocities of war.
After retiring from the military he worked for Washington Mutual Bank in Tacoma. He retired from the bank and moved to the Bremerton area. During retirement he enjoyed golf and traveling.
Mac was fortunate to find love and companionship after losing his wife Daisy, and spent the last five years of his life with another wonderful lady, Kate Chamberlain.
A private graveside service was held on August 5th at Mountain View Memorial Park for immediate family members. He will be dearly missed.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of His Life at the Taprock Grill in Poulsbo at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 25th. The Family wishes to extend a very special thanks and appreciation to the Group Health Doctors and Hospice Nurses for their care and compassion for Harold. Donations in his honor can be made to Group Health Hospice.
