Harold Leroy Fields' Obituary
Harold L. Fields passed into the arms of his heavenly Father on October 6, 2010. Harold was born on November 9, 1924 in Carlisle, Arkansas to William and Opal Fields. He was known as Bud to his parents and siblings. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired after 20 years of military service on March 31, 1966. Harold went on to work as a dispatcher at U.S. Oil Refining Company in Tacoma until his retirement in the mid 1980s. He was an active and enthusiastic member of the First Baptist Church of Lakewood where he served faithfully for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lovell, brother, Charles and his second wife, Bernice. He is survived by Katheryn Fields, his first wife, and their five children: sons Rick (Sue), Ron, Roger (Patrick Daugherty); daughters Debbie Sullivan (Steve), Holly Juarez; grandchildren Brian (Ashley), Lauren, Adam, Ben, Colton, Austin; great-grandson Trevor. Harold is also survived by brothers, Richard and Kenneth of Arkansas, and sister, Linda Lawson of Texas. He leaves behind many loving church members whose Christian friendships were deeply treasured. Harold was also loved and cared for by Steve, Sue, Dan and Mark Thomas. A heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Bridgeport Place Assisted Care and DaVita Dialysis of Tacoma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Lakewood.
