Harold Homer HardestyHarold Hardesty, a US Air Force WWII and Korean War veteran was born October 19, 1912 in Spangle, WA and passed away July 13, 2004 at the age of 91, at Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma WA. He proudly served his country for 21 years in the USAF which started at Felts Field in Spokane Wash. with tours around the world, and finally retiring at Travis AFB, California. After Harold retired in 1961 he and his wife owned and operated Lakewood Lawn Equipment in Lakewood, WA in the 60Â's and 70Â's. After retiring from the business Harold built his home on American Lake, obtained his pilotÂ's license, bought a float plane and began enjoying his passion of flying. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling and working around their house and rental properties. He enjoyed feeding Â"hisÂ" sparrows, ducks, geese, and raccoons. He married his best friend Elaine in 1942 and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Harold was a loving, thoughtful, kind-hearted man and was always willing and ready to help others. He will be deeply missed. At his request there will be no services, just a pause in your dayÂ's occupation to reflect on your memory of or association with him.
