Harold A. "Mike" Davies' Obituary
With warmest wishes the family sends Harold A. “Mike” Davies to his peaceful rest period. Mike was born and raised in Tacoma Washington and passed away February 12th at the age of 94 years.
Mike served during WWII in the South Pacific on an island in the Philippines. After the war, he worked as a tool and die machinist for various companies in the Tacoma area. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers Cascade Lodge #297.
He became involved with the American Legion Post 138 in Tacoma. From the beginning he diligently worked to improve the benefits for both active duty and retired military men and women. This period of time gave Mike great satisfaction to take care of brave military members in our community. He became Commander of the American Legion Post 138, District Commander, and served on the Mayor’s Task Force for Veterans Affairs. He was involved in these community service projects for most of his life.
Mike was preceded in death by his caring wife Annell V. Davies and his daughter Sally Racca. He is survived by his daughter Mickie and her husband Ted Kiesel, his daughter Penny and her husband Ed Zenker, and his brother Eugene Davies. The loss is mourned by his grandchildren Holly Kiesel-Juma, Tony Kiesel, Jamie Pabian, Shelly Mullen, Eddie Zenker, Lisa Neideffer, and Mickey Racca. “Papa” took great pride is his great grandchildren Ryder Kiesel, Maggie Juma, Sloan and Bella Neideffer, Tucker and Tayler Mullen, and Tommy and Sonja Racca.
