Thinking about you a lot lately, Jho. The people whose lives you changed. The joy you brought. I still can't believe you're not here.
When I first met Jho at Jazzbones I think it was, he treated me like a friend that he had known for a long time. I'll never forget how big hearted and welcoming he was, not to mention the stone bad-ass musician he was. Love to family and friends.

Jennie Heinold Crook here. My heartfelt sympathy to the family. I share in your grief. Jho has long been my favorite guitarist. Over the years, I made it a point to go and listen to him play, and just to touch base. This time I waited too long in between and wish I could go back for one last session, one last "Hey." Be at peace, Jho, and should you run into Pete Munoz, please say "Hey" to him for me. You'll both be in my thoughts and prayers.
This is Chuck Heinold in Los Angeles sending my thoughts and best wishes to the family and everyone else who knew and loved Jho. I met Joe in 1968 when I was still in High School at Lakes having just moved to Lakewood from Germany where my father had been stationed. I had played bass in a band in Germany and a mutual friend Pete "Moon" Munoz who was a drummer introduced me to Jho. We were three Army brats. We formed the band Muf and took it to great heights. The culmination was playing at the Gold Creek Festival near Seattle and opening for Jim Morrison & The Doors. Jho and I were there when Morrison came down in a helicopter in a field behind the stage. Morrison had two chicks with him and gave us a thumbs up. We also shared the bill with The Grateful Dead, Canned Heat, Its a Beautiful Day, Jesse Colin Young, The Buffalo Springfield , and more. Many great players were in Muf. Norm Bennett, Scott Linsdstrom, Bob Robionson..and others and I am sure they all feel the same way I do at the passing of this great artist. Jho will always have a special place in my heart and now he has a special place in the heavens. Play on brother.
Peace and love to you all....

My deepest condolences to the family and close friends of Jho Blenis. His generous and happy nature made this world a much brighter place to live in. He shared his kindness and joy of life through his amazing music. He was a true master in the highest sense of this word. The sadness of his passing is immense for every heart he has touched.

Offering sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. Our Heavenly father in His word the Bible calls death an enemy (1Cor. 15:26) which He promises in the very near future to do away with (Rev. 21:4,5) At that time tragedies and accidents will be a thing of the past, no one will ever get sick (Isaiah 33:24) and there will be a reuniting, a bringing back to life instead of losing (John 5:28,29) Please allow these words to be of comfort to you and give you hope. (2Cor. 1:3,4)
