Harold Bell's Obituary
Harold G. Bell, the son of Verda and James Douglas Bell was born on September 28, 1945 in Bessemer, Alabama.
He enlisted in the army in 1963 and married the love of his life, Mable, as soon as he finished boot camp. Harold served his country in Vietnam for one tour and went to serve in Germany, Kansas, Alabama, Georgia and Fort Lewis, where he retired on August 31, 1983.
With a marriage of 47 years, Harold and Mable were blessed with daughters, Melissa, Christine and Shonda. Harold also leaves behind 5 granddaughters, Lisa, Lindsey and Sarah Duhaime and Tina and Lia Bell, as well as a great-grandson, Brandon Elkins. He is survived by 3 sisters, Brenda, Pat, and Becky. Harold is thankful that his family was together at his passing.
After retiring from the army, Harold served (civilian) in the dispatch/communications department at Madigan Army Medical Center as a 911 operator for 17 years, where he made many friends. Harold was always helpful and went out of his way for others.
In his leisure time, Harold enjoyed fishing, wood crafting and the Mariners - even when they were losing. He was looking forward to retirement when he could travel and see other members of his family and new places and go to church on Sunday mornings with his wife.
On March 27, 2011, Harold was released from his pain and suffering to enjoy God's presence and to join those who went before him.
Knowing how loving, caring, understanding and forgiving Harold was, his name will be mentioned in conversations for years to come, and you can believe he will be watching over each other and every one of us - especially his grandchildren.
