Harland B. Peterson's Obituary
Beloved Tacoma dentist for 55 years, entered God's presence February 7th, 2013.
Born December 31, 1928 in Garrison, North Dakota, he graduated from Clover Park High School in 1946. He attended UPS and transferred to the University of Washington, earning a degree in Dentistry in 1953. His skills were used in the Army from 1953 to 1955, culminating with the rank of Captain.
He was active on the Boards of Young Life, Youth for Christ and Baptist General Conference Northwest. He was Board Chairman at Central Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School for years. He was a great blessing to high school and college age students who were searching for Biblical answers to problems in their lives. He was also a Scout Master.
Harland's relaxation activities included his love for sports. He lettered in football and baseball at Clover Park, and was an excellent golfer and bowler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; two brothers, Earle and Gordon Peterson, and a sister, Ardis Howell. He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Anne Peterson.
His genuine commitment to God, family, friends, and patients will be remembered in our hearts forever.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, February 23rd, 2:00 PM at Central Church on the Hill, 5000 67th AVE W, University Place, WA, 98467.
