Hanako Moody's Obituary
Hanako Suzuki Moody, 92, passed away at her home in University
Place on February 25, 2019. She was born in Kawasaki, Japan on March
12, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents, Masayoshi Suzuki
and Yoshi Hara; her sister, Kinu Whipple and her brothers.
Hanako came to the U.S. in 1951. She proudly became a citizen in
1999. She met her devoted husband of 45 years, Dallas Ward Moody, at a
dance. Their love at first sight continued to blossom and they were married
October 31, 1973.
Hanako was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her extended
family and friends brought her joy. She was a seamstress, avid gardener,
cook, sports fan and a lover of dogs. Hanako was a kind and caring person.
Armed with her feisty attitude, determination and strength, she faced and
conquered many challenges. Her infectious smile and sense of humor will
remain in our hearts forever.
Hanako is survived by her husband, Dallas W. Moody; son, Willard
(Woody) Wooten; daughter, Rose (Steve) Metzker; daughter, Diane
(Dominique) Easter; daughter, Kay (Duane) Conn; son, Dexter (Jeanie)
Moody; grandchildren Matt Geisreiter, Kim Geisreiter, Jesiah Metzker,
Danielle (Scott) Rough, Ashley (Marshall) Perkins, Ricky (Brittany)
Armstrong, Ashley Conn, Kayla Moody, Patricia (Travis) Smith and Justin
Easter. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, extended family
and dear friends.
