Hai Trong Nguyen's Obituary
Hai Trong Nguyen, 55, of Lakewood, Washington, passed away on January 29, 2026 at St Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born April 19, 1970 in My Tho, Vietnam, Hai and his parents emigrated to the United States in 1985. A longtime member of the Lakewood community, Hai graduated from Clover Park High School and later earned his Associate of Arts degree from Pierce College. He dedicated more than 19 years of service to Walmart, where he was known by colleagues and customers alike for his reliability, kindness, and quiet generosity. He also successfully built a business renovating and renting properties in the Lakewood area.
Above all, Hai was a devoted father. Being Jonathan’s dad was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. He loved attending his son’s church, school, and sporting events, always present to cheer him on and support him in every way possible. Time spent with Jonathan and family meant everything to him.
Hai is survived by his beloved son, Jonathan Nguyen; his parents, Phong Nguyen and Sau Le; and extended family and friends who will miss his ever-present smile, warm heart, and gentle spirit.
He will be remembered as a loving son, proud father, loyal friend, industrious worker and a man whose care for others showed in the quiet ways he lived each day. His memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on February 12, 2026 at St John Bosco Church, Lakewood WA. Burial will be at Mountain View Funeral Home at 1030 AM, Friday February 13, 2026.
