Gyda B. Weingard's Obituary
Gyda B. Weingard was born May 30, 1914, in Tacoma, Washington, and passed away October 6, 2002, in Huntington Beach, California. She lived in Tacoma for most of her life, the last year in Huntington Beach. Gyda graduated from Stadium High School and had worked a variety of jobs, including seamstress at a casket factory and bookkeeping at CarstenÂ's, later Hygrade, meat packing plant. It was at the latter where she met her husband, Forrest Weingard. She then chose to be at home with her only daughter, Rondi. A lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, she was very active at her church. She belonged to two clubs, the We Fifty Ladies and to KOPO, a group of friends that had been together for close to seventy years.Gyda is predeceased by her three brothers, John, Arnold and Haakon Kirkebo and her husband Forrest. She is survived by her daughter Rondi, son-in-law Julio and three grandsons, Nicholas, Bryant and Kevin. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, October 11, 2002 at Mountain View Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tacoma.
