Gwinetth Earlene Gideon's Obituary
Gwinetth Earlene Gideon born in Milan, Missouri, passed away in Lakewood, Washington. Gwen lived a full and adventurous life attended by numerous friends, associates, relatives and 4 husbands. She always had a cheery smile and she always added her style to everything she touched. Gwinetth's family moved to Lewistown, Montana when she was 3 years old and she received secondary education at Fergus County H.S. in 1950. She graduated from 1st Ward Secretary class at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls. 3 years later, she married Dr. Harvey G. Vodicka and moved to Great Falls, Montana. Divorced in 1966, she then married William Edward Doust in 1968 and moved to Tacoma, Washington. Bill Doust USAF died in 1974 and she married attorney Samuel Wilson Fancher in 1978. They remained married until his death in 1994. She met her most recent husband, Colonel Robert Royce Gideon Jr., and they were married in 1999. Bob passed away in 2005. Gwinetth worked as the clinic director for the Lindquist Dental Clinic for Children, Parkland, WA for 25 years and remained on the board until recently. She also served on the board for the Pierce County Oral Health Coalition. Prior to that, she worked in admitting for the old Lakewood Hospital and as a real estate agent for Hawkins Poe Real Estate in Fircrest, WA for nearly a decade. Gwinetth loved to travel and visited Spain, Egypt, Germany, Poland and many other wonderful places inside and outside the U.S. Gwinetth Gideon was preceded in death by husband Bob Gideon, and brothers George Stanley and Jerry Stanley. She is survived by 3 brothers: Edward Stanley of Lewistown, MT, and Joe Stanley(Ida) of Great Falls, MT, Jack Stanley (Karen); 5 children: David Doust, Denise Manos, Deborah Johnson (Jon), Cindy Doust (Bruce) and Belinda Osterhout and 8 grandchildren: Kristin, Jenna, Dionne, Telly, Cole, Brandon, Nicholas and Christina. She will be missed by her special friend Dr. Donald Jastad, retired D.D.S., and by many other friends and associates: Bruce and Victoria, Judy, Bob and Michiko, those at the McChord AF retirees' activities center and the folks at Franciscan Hospice house. Gwin would like to give her deepest appreciation for the Doctors at the Lindquist Clinic who gave their time and energy for the sake of the children. Mother we thank you for all your love as we grew and for never letting us down. Your love and support is why we are here today. Your smile will be remembered forever and we love you with all our heart. A memorial gathering is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Celebration of Life Center, Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Boulevard, Lakewood. Flowers may be sent to the Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View funeral home.
