Gweneth Fletcher Liljenquist's Obituary
Gweneth Fletcher Greer Liljenquist, a long-time resident of Washington State, died Monday, July 13, 2015 in Covington, Washington. She was 95.
Born March 5, 1920 in LaVerkin, Utah, Gweneth received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. She was a teacher for many years and was the sole kindergarten teacher at Andrew Christiansen Elementary School from 1962 until her retirement in 1987. She was a positive influence in the lives of many students.
Gweneth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the church and served in many capacities.
She loved reading and music. She was an accomplished pianist as well as an organist for her church in her earlier years. Singing was a joy and comfort for her and she continued to share songs with others until her last days.
Gweneth was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Dunlap Greer in 1945, two daughters, Carolyn Rae Greer Weston and Julianne Dee Greer Wahlers and her second husband, Don Clifford Liljenquist. She is survived by three of her children: Jennet Liljenquist (David Fitter) of Maple Valley, Washington, Don Craig Liljenquist (Mary Grace) of Algona, Washington and Melanie Liljenquist Dugan (Greg) of Anacortes, Washington. Her posterity includes 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Gweneth will be held on July 20, 2015 at 9:30AM, The Church of Latter-Day Saints- Lake Sawyer Ward, 26106 164th Ave SE, Covington, WA 98042.
Following the memorial service, at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W., Lakewood, WA 98499, a viewing will be held July, 20, 2015 at 12:30PM. A commital graveside service is to follow at 1:30PM.
