Guy Beverly Satterthwaite's Obituary
Guy B. Satterthwaite, age 94, passed away in Olympia, WA on Monday, September 13, 2010 after a brief illness. Guy was the loving husband of Helen D. Satterthwaite, who preceded him in death. Born in Chesaw, WA, Guy grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School. After attending Washington State, he enlisted in the Army where he served in WWII with the 42nd General Hospital in the Pacific Theater. He worked for Kelley, Farquhar & Company as the logistics and transportation manager. Guy was a long-time member of Mason United Methodist Church in Tacoma and the Tacoma Elks. He enjoyed gardening and loved to watch his Seattle pro sports teams. Guy is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Norman and MaryJo Satterthwaite of Lodi, CA, his daughter Kim Satterthwaite of DuPont, WA and his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Cris Satterthwaite of Sumter, SC. Services and reception will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.
