Grant E. Hopkins' Obituary
Grant went to be with his loving wife, Erva, who passed away on February 26, 2006. He was born and lived most of his life in Tacoma. Grant served in the US Navy and the Merchant Marines during the Korean War. After serving his country Grant joined the staff at McNeil Island Penitentiary and later retired from the US Postal Service. Grant was a longtime member of the South Tacoma Eagles Aerie 2933, V.F.W Post 969, and the B.P.O.E. Lodge# 2388 in Lakewood. He is survived by two children Elaine Hancock and Larry Smethurst, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:00-9:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Moutain View Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, May 5, 2006 at Mountain View Memorial Park.
