Gracie Bell Prince's Obituary

Gracie Bell Massey Prince was born to Willie and Rita Jones Massey on October 12,1943 in Perry County, Alabama. She passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2019 with her husband by her side. As the baby of seven children she was pampered, but not spoiled.
After moving to Bessemer, Alabama, she became a member of the Bessemer 24th Street Church of Christ under the leadership of Brother W.N. Chriesman. She attended Carver Junior High and on to Dunbar High School in Bessemer, Alabama.
Gracie married her childhood sweetheart, a career soldier, Louis G. Prince, Jr., and she spent her entire post high school years traveling with him. Her travel included three, three-year tours in Germany: Fort Bragg NC: Fort Lee VA and Fort Lewis WA. During this time, she enjoyed a successful career as an employee of the Army and Air Force Exchange, rising to the level of Supervising Manager. She also enjoyed her gym workouts three times a week and shopping.
In 1982 Gracie joined Shiloh Baptist Church where she thoroughly enjoyed Morning Worship Service, Sunday School and serving for many years as a Senior Usher Board member.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
She leaves to Cherish her loving memories: her husband Louis G. Prince Jr.; two sons, Timothy George (Aileen) Prince, Victor (Tanyua) Prince and daughter Sheila (Antoine) English; Grandchildren, Justin, Lamar, Tiara, Kara, Quinn, Eyrn and husband Chris; great-grandson Jakobe; brother in law, Eugene Prince; Sisters in law, Dorothy Prince, Georgia Lee Lapsley and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
