Grace Iola Wilson's Obituary
Grace Iola Wilson passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2014. Grace was born on January 19, 1922, the sixth child of Gertrude (Lockwood) and Frank Walters, in Midland, Washington. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington. She served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II after which she attended and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, Washington as a teacher. She taught elementary school at military bases in Newfoundland and Japan, and in later years she taught in California. It was in Newfoundland that she met her husband, Lloyd, and they were married in 1955. They lived many happy years in Sacramento and Napa Valley, California and in Olympia and Lakewood, Washington until Lloyd's death in 1998. Grace then lived in Lacey, Washington until her passing. Grace is survived by her sisters Marie, Irma, Lila, and Vina, by her devoted brother-in-law Evan Richmond, and by many nieces and nephews. Grace's family is deeply grateful to niece Gena Clintworth for lovingly overseeing Grace's care in her later years
