Gordon Lee Kelpman's Obituary
Gordon Lee "Gordy" Kelpman, 79, passed away on February 23, 2024, in Tacoma. He was born on September 30, 1944 in Tacoma to the late Herbert H. and Hannah (Anderson) Kelpman.
Gordy proudly served in the Washington National Guard for 6 years. He then pursued a career as a Washington State Patrol Trooper for 2 years before dedicating 30 years as a Teamster at Garret Freightlines, O.N.C. Freight Systems, West Coast Grocery, and SuperValu.
A kind and generous man, Gordy was a loving husband to Kathleen (Kathy) and a devoted father to his late daughter, Adriane; daughter, Kiersten; and son, Jarod. He adored his grandchildren, ; David, Sarah (Kiersten & Mihai Banica); Hannah, August and Gunther (Adriane and Daren Miles), Makenna, Garrison Gordon, Cannon and Warren (Jarod and Jenny Kelpman) Garrison, and Warren (Jarod & Jenny Kelpman).
Gordy will be remembered for his love of singing, sharing anecdotes, and enjoying Starbucks coffee. He cherished reminiscing about the old days with friends. He will be deeply missed by his family, cousins, nieces and nephews, his family at Life Center Church & Life Christian Academy, and friends. He loved them all.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10 AM at Life Center Church in Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Life Christian Academy.
Gordy's legacy of love and kindness will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
