Gordon F. Clark's Obituary
Gordon Fredrick (Sparky) Clark, 81, was called home December 11, 2005 after a 5-year battle with cancer. Gordy was born July 1, 1924 to Kenneth and Agnes Clark in Dickinson, North Dakota, where he spent the next 42 years after a short break for military service. He was captured and severely injured during the Battle of the Bulge but subsequently escaped from the SS prison camp where he had been taken.He is survived by his sister Evelyn Clark Putnam, Billings, Montana and 2 sons from his first marriage: Jay (Mary), Tumwater Â- missionaries with BSF International in Ibadan, Nigeria, West Africa; Ross (Liz), Billings, Montana; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also included as family are stepsons: William Leffel, Jr. of Tacoma; Stephen (Sherrie) Leffel of Sumner; Tim (Terri) Leffel of Kent and Terry (Nanette) of Tacoma; 2 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild.Gordon was a member of American Ex-Prisoners of War Â- Tacoma, Military Order of the Purple Heart, VFW Post 969, Military Order of the COOTIE, American Legion Post 110, Eagles Aerie 3, and Elks #174Services are at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2005 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
