Gloria B. Monzon
Gloria B. Monzon died September 6, 2011 with her family by her side at Hospice of Kitsap County Care Center in Bremerton, Washington. She was 83 years old.
She was born on October 16, 1927 in Julugan Tanza, Cavite, Philippines, and moved to the US with her husband and children in 1958. Beginning in 1960 she worked at the Army/Air Force Base Exchange as a cook/cashier in Madigan Hospital Cafeteria. She retired with 34 years of service in 1994.
Gloria's interests included singing, dancing, and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the Filipino American League, the Korean Women's Association, and loved spending time with her friends. The lives she touched will always remember her gentle heart, beautiful smile, sense of humor, and strength.
Gloria is survived by her lifetime partner Gabriel S. Suplido, Sr., her son and daughter-in-law Domingo & Marlene Monzon, son Mike Monzon, daughter and son-in-law Jeannie & Brian Berg, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Domingo L. Monzon and son Lamberto B. Monzon.
Viewing will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2011 through Monday, September 12, 2011 . Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Lakewood, Washington with graveside services to immediately follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Reception will follow at St. Francis Cabrini Hall.
